This is your chance to join a unique tiger conservation expedition to the island of Sumatra, Indonesia.
In partnership with WWF, Biosphere Expeditions is offering a free place on the expedition. And there’s more: in addition to the expedition prize, there is an experience day in the UK, USA, Australia or Germany to be won.
The expedition will take you to the Indonesian island of Sumatra to survey critically endangered Sumatran tigers and the largely uncharted and fascinating rainforest setting in which they are struggling to survive.
You will be working as part of an international team from a comfortable traditional timber house expedition base inside the forest. You will be covering ground on foot and in boats, looking for tracks, kills, scats and the animals themselves, and setting camera traps.
You will also work with local people on capacity-building and creating local incentives for tiger conservation. All this in an effort to mitigate human-wildlife conflict and create strategies to ensure the survival of the critically endangered Sumatran tiger into the future.
You have to be prepared to muck in on a hands-on conservation project, not a luxury holiday. If this is you, then tell us who you are, why we should take you on and what you think you can contribute to the expedition.
