WIN a trip to Boracay in The Philippines

Tourism Philippines joins OzAsia for the first time

The Philippine Department of Tourism has announced its support of the OzAsia Festival for the first time. The festival is Australia’s premier international arts festival, focusing on Asia, and is set to take place in Adelaide from 21st September to 8th October 2017.

This year, Enrique de Dios, a Manila singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, will perform at the Lucky Dumpling Market on 23rd and 24th September.  Enrique distils decades of playing with the Philippines’ top bands and artists into a heady mix of folk, soul, jazz and blues.  Effortlessly switching between instruments, he creates entire arrangements live.

These markets will combine the tastes of Asia with live entertainment.  OzAsia’s lively new hub, the Lucky Dumpling Market will be serving up the flavours of Asia with delicious hot pots, noodles, curry and of course dumplings.

As an added bonus, Tourism Philippines is offering the chance for two lucky festival goers to win flights and accommodation to Boracay.

To enter, participants can enter by taking a fun selfie with food purchased at Nino’s Lamesita at the Oz Asia Festival, or at the Filipino Adelaide-based restaurant, during the Oz Asia Festival.  Participants will then post the photo and tag their buddy on Facebook or Instagram, with the following three hashtags for a chance to win - #bringUrMatetoPH #flySQ #ninoslamesita*.

The most creative post will win two return tickets, courtesy of Singapore Airlines, and accommodation at Boracay Sand Castles for three days and two nights courtesy of Tribal Adventures Tours Inc.  Winners will be announced on 13th October 2017.

Norjamin Delos Reyes, Tourism Attaché at Philippines Department of Tourism Australia and New Zealand said,

“We are very excited to join the OzAsia Festival for the first time.  We hope to provide visitors with an enticing snapshot into Filipino culture, cuisine and music.  Although we can’t bring the stunning beauty of the Philippines to all of those who will visit the festival, this will provide a perfect introduction to our picture perfect holiday destination.  We encourage everyone to visit the Lucky Dumpling Markets to hear Enrique perform, whilst enjoying some Filipino cuisine from Nino’s Lamesita stall.”

The OzAsia festival showcases the best of Asia through a packed program of events including art, music, theatre and dance plus many more.
