Club Med dishes up the good life to TravelManagers in the Maldives

The home-based agents kicked back over a few days at two different resorts.

A glass-bottom restaurant...seems appropriate for the Maldives.

The all-inclusive Club Med experience was recently put through its paces by two Personal Travel Managers during a famil to the Maldives recently.

Katy Hurd and Alyssa Pretorius were hosted by Club Med, Singapore Airlines and CT Partners to a few nights at both Club Med Kani and Club Med Finolhu, where they explored the many differences between the two properties.

The trip was part of an ‘Ambassador Program’ run by Singapore Airlines and Club Med, designed to enable agents to experience both first-hand.

“I had been to Club Med 11 years previously,” Hurd said, “and although I loved the concept back then, it was wonderful to see for myself the many improvements and enhancements that have happened since then.

Pretorius said she was grateful to have the opportunity to compare the two properties, with Finolhu sitting within Club Med’s luxury stable.

“Club Med Kani and Club Med Finolhu are very different resorts that will appeal to different customers and being able to make comparisons based on personal observations makes all the difference, especially for the high-end customers that Club Med is targeting,” Pretorius said.

“For example, the pricing of a beach villa at Finolhu is comparable to that of an overwater bungalow at Kani, so it’s important for me to be able to help customers decide which option best suits their needs.”

Hurd said she was impressed at the changes to food service, with the self-serve buffet concept replaced by staff-controlled plated meal stations.

“Of course, in classic Club Med style, you can still eat as much as you want and try absolutely everything on the menu at every meal: I’m happy to say I gave it a good crack!”
