Flight Centre adds Luxperience to its luxury product collection

The long-running luxury roadshow will continue to foster strong relationships between travel agents and buyers.

Luxperience is now part of the Flight Centre luxury portfolio.

Long-running luxury travel networking event Luxperience has joined the Flight Centre portfolio, with the retail network acquiring the event from Diversified Communications Australia.

Since its formation in 2012, Luxperience has carved out a niche for itself as a key networking platform for luxury travel agents and buyers, with events taking place annually prior to the pandemic attracting strong delegations of high-end products, services and experiences.

Travel agents wishing to attend the event must be pre-qualified based on their luxury sales history to preserve a high calibre of attendees specialising in the elite end of the market.

Founder Helen Logas sold the event in 2017 to Diversified Communications Australia, with events taking place in 2018 and 2019 before shifting to a virtual format for the past three years.

A boutique style Luxperience has been scheduled to take place at the International Convention Centre in Sydney, running from 13-17 November this year.

Luxperience will take place in Sydney from 13-17 November 2023.

Now part of Flight Centre Travel Group’s Luxury Travel Collection, Luxperience will become part of a high-end product stable that already features the Travel Associates and newly acquired Scott Dunn brands but will be operated independently.

Flight Centre Global CEO of Leisure, James Kavanagh, said the company saw the acquisition of the boutique event as an opportunity to strengthen its luxury leisure offering to suppliers, advisors and clients.

“Luxperience is very well-known in Australia and New Zealand, it has a strong reputation as a great quality annual hosted buyer event connecting high-end experiential travel advisors with elite suppliers,” Kavanagh said.

“It is the only event of its kind in Australia and was therefore the right fit for the Group’s growing Luxury Travel Collection. As we emerged from the pandemic and luxury travel began to rebound, we felt the addition of a bespoke, luxury B2B event like this would strengthen our portfolio and provide opportunities for business growth and diversification.”

Luxperience Event Director Lynn Ormiston will remain with the brand, transferring across from Diversified Communications Australia to ensure consistency of relationships between suppliers and attendees.
