It's been a long time between drinks for travel agent events (we mean the ones that aren't virtual of course). So any real industry gathering is cause for celebration, especially when it's held somewhere as beautiful as this...
While it may not have been the real Kokoda Track, last weekend Papua New Guinea Tourism Promotion Authority (PNGTPA) hosted an agent hike at Springbrook National Park (QLD) to help keep the travel trade active, inspired, and connected whilst travel restrictions are still in place.
The trek was led by Our Spirit's Aidan Grimes, who has walked the Kokoda track over 120 times.
During the day, Aidan provided agents with insights into what walking the 8-day Kokoda trek is like and relayed stories from his experiences on the track and from his travels throughout PNG.
The group of 19 agents, suppliers and industry friends thoroughly enjoyed the experience and PNGTPA plans on hosting the hike each month moving forward.
Hikes will be in different locations throughout Brisbane and the Gold Coast.
