TravelManagers blast off into outer space (well…not quite)

Adventures to the ‘Final Frontier’ will soon be possible for the home-based network’s clients via a new partnership.

TravelManagers’ Grant Campbell and Troy Coelho meet Space Perspective’s Head of Global Sales and Trade Partnerships, Edyta Teper in Las Vegas.

For travellers who say they’ve ‘been everywhere’, home-based agent network TravelManagers has opened up the deep, dark depths of outer space as a potential future holiday destination.

The company has partnered with Signature Travel Network – a provider of luxury travel experiences, among which is space travel operator, Space Perspective.

Bookings for well-heeled adventurers to escape beyond the boundaries of Earth will soon be possible, with ‘departures’ in Space Perspective’s pressurised capsule ‘Spaceship Neptune’ ready to countdown to launch as soon as 2024.

The high-performance spacecraft takes the shape of a balloon and features wrap-around windows and even a bar for a celebratory glass of champagne at the edge of outer space.

According to Space Perspective, Spaceship Neptune will be carbon neutral and will propel passengers beyond Earth’s surface without the need for ultra-high octane rocket fuel or powerful G-forces.

In fact, Spaceship Neptune also features WiFi, interactive screens and even a bathroom for the six-hour experience.

Spaceship Neptune is more of a capsule and includes WiFi, a bar and a bathroom.

Meeting in Las Vegas recently with Space Perspective in Las Vegas, TravelManagers Chief Operating Officer, Grant Campbell, and Operations Manager, Troy Coelho, discovered the possibilities soon to be available to Australian travellers.

More than 1,000 tickets for the ethereal ‘out of this world’ journeys have already been sold, with test flights from Space Perspective’s marine port scheduled for early next year with revenue flights coming towards the end of 2024.

TravelManagers PTMs will have the opportunity to learn more about the new space flight experiences via a webinar this year before a company roadshow event in early 2023.

Campbell said commercial space travel experiences were projected to become a US$8 billion industry by 2030.

“TravelManagers’ partnership with Signature provides our personal travel managers (PTMs) with access to unique, luxury travel products like those offered by Space Perspective, along with all the necessary training and support to ensure that their customers have the best possible experience,” he said.

“Space travel is an entirely new category of travel, and PTMs need to be well-briefed to be able to satisfactorily answer the many questions that are likely to arrive from would-be customers,” Campbell added.

“For example, those who are concerned by the environmental impact of space travel will want to know about Space Perspective’s innovative design features which set them apart from other space travel companies.

“Like any luxury product, it’s not going to be to everyone’s taste or budget.

“But it is an exciting addition to an already impressive collection of luxury travel experiences that are available to TravelManagers customers as a result of our partnership with Signature,” Campbell added.
