Viking is inviting agents to inspect its ocean ships this summer

If you’re keen to see what your clients can enjoy on a Viking cruise, the line is inviting agents onboard for a number of onboard tours.

Viking is inviting agents to inspect its ships during Australian port calls.

Hot on the heels of a major award win, Viking is inviting Aussie agents to see what all the fuss is about, with 16 ship inspections scheduled during the 2023 and 2024 summer cruising season for travel agents around Australia.

The inspections are expected to attract more than 1,000 advisors and their clients onboard, with Viking Orion, Viking Sky and Viking Neptune all welcoming agents as the ships visit ports on the east coast of Australia.

See below for details on how to register to inspect a Viking ship when it calls near you.

Viking won the award for ‘Most Popular Ocean Cruise Operator’ at the National Travel Industry Awards held in Melbourne recently.

Inspections will begin in Newcastle on December 4, then in Sydney from December 6, Melbourne from February 2, 2024, and Cairns from February 21.

“We are excited to welcome agents and their clients aboard to experience the Viking Difference,” said Viking ANZ Managing Director, Michelle Black.

“Our inspections offer a valuable opportunity to get a taste of life on board, experience a little Viking hospitality and connect with a Viking representative who can answer all-important questions for their clients.”

Agents are invited to participate in a one-hour hosted ship inspection to view the ship’s facilities, public areas and stateroom categories.

The tour includes seven indoor and outdoor dining venues, the Nordic Spa and state-of-the-art fitness centre, the pools, theatre and cinemas, The Living Room and the Explorers’ Lounge.

Following the tour, agents will have the opportunity for a Q&A session with the host in one of the ship’s bars or dining areas.

Brigid Avery from Main Beach Travel had been in the industry for more than 30 years but had never been on a cruise ship. She inspected Viking Mars in March 2023.

“The chance to see first-hand what Viking ships are like was invaluable,” Avery said.
