Travel Insurance Direct launches one-of-a-kind mobile app

The intuitive logic of Tripwise automatically takes travellers to the information that’s most relevant to where they are in their journey, whether that’s getting ready to go, on the road, or coming home.

Tripwise, a new mobile app developed by Travel Insurance Direct, is set to transform the way travellers prepare for their overseas trip.

Launched by Travel Insurance Direct, Australia’s leading online travel insurance provider, Tripwise gives novice travellers the tools to travel like a seasoned globetrotter with practical, expert advice and information tailored specifically to their journey, conveniently in the palm of their hands.

With three distinct components to the app, Tripwise helps travellers plan and prepare for their trip, keep up to date with destination information on the go, and with the click of a button, access a claim report, upon their return.

The intelligent app features information like passport, visa and vaccination requirements, a worldwide health guide, an audio phrasebook in 24 languages and insight into culture and customs of over 100 destinations worldwide.

With practical tips on smart travelling like the practice of tipping, crime and scams revealed, travel alerts and important emergency contacts, Tripwise is like having a private travel guide in your pocket.

Travel Insurance Direct’s General Manager, Diana Watts says, Tripwise is designed to help travellers stay out of trouble. The easy to use app allows Travel Insurance Direct customers to learn more about where they’re going, and offers tips on what they’ll need to make their trip and any claims process go more smoothly.”

The intuitive logic of Tripwise automatically takes travellers to the information that’s most relevant to where they are in their journey, whether that’s getting ready to go, on the road, or coming home. Alternatively by simply navigating to Trip Notes in the menu, customers can find what they want when they want it.

Mobile phones have quickly become a must-have travel accessory with a recent TID survey* revealing that 87% of customers take their mobile phone with them on holidays. More than half of these are iPhones and initially, Tripwise will be available exclusively to iPhone users.

Globetrotters can download Tripwise before they go to avoid roaming charges and sync the app regularly while on the road (Tripwise has tips on how to do this cheaply) to receive up-to-date advice and important destination alerts.
