Digital travel money card Pelikin surpasses 100 agent affiliates

The upstart overseas cash card provider has hit its first major milestone barely six months since launching in Australia.

More than 100 travel agent affiliates have been signed up as distributors of the Pelikin digital travel money card in just six months, the company proudly announced today.

Issued by Nium on license from Visa Worldwide, the Pelikin travel card allows travel advisors to be paid commission on every cent their clients spend while overseas on their holiday or business trip.

One such affiliate is the Evolution Travel Collective, with Managing Director Ingrid Berthelsen praising the ease of signing up to promote the card to their customers.

“We now look forward to supporting the existing affiliates to maximise their future earnings potential via card signups from their customers,” Berthelsen said.

Agents recommending the card to their clients don’t need to provide any formal agency accreditation, perform ID checks or require their clients to load money directly through them in-store.

For customers themselves, there’s a current promotion coming to an end soon which allows all new sign-ups to receive 2% cash back on all purchases made using their card overseas, on things such as public transport tickets, local attractions, an ice-cream on a hot day or dinner and a night out on the town.

Pelikin CEO Sam Brown said it’s an exciting time to be working with agents and helping them to increase their revenue through their clients’ holiday spend.

“A five-minute discussion or a 30-second email to a client and they could be earning commission on every dollar their client spends overseas by signing up via their personalised affiliate link,” Brown said.
