Which airlines have the best cabin crew?

Nothing beats Asian airlines for service, apparently

After safety, is there anything that matters more on a good flight than service? If so, these carriers would be smiling from aisle to aisle.

At the World Airline Awards, which were held at a ceremony during the 2016 Farnborough Air Show in the UK, Garuda Indonesia was awarded the prize for World's Best Airline Cabin Crew for the third consecutive year.

Covering 'hard' service such as techniques, efficiency and attention as well as 'soft' service characteristics like staff enthusiasm, attitude, friendliness and overall hospitality, the category was dominated by Asian carriers, with ANA All Nippon Airways, Singapore Airlines, Thai Airways and EVA Air rounding out the top five positions.

Asian airlines also reigned supreme in the category of World's Cleanest Aircraft Cabins, with the top nine carriers hailing from the far east, led by Cathay Pacific, EVA, ANA, Japan Airlines and Hainan Airlines.

In the overall category, Emirates was named World’s Best Airline for the fourth time, followed by Qatar Airways, Singapore Airlines, Cathay Pacific and ANA.

Leading the way among Australian airlines was Qantas, who finished in a very commendable ninth place (up one position from 2014), while Virgin Australia scored a top 20 position in 18th place.

Jetstar finished 46th overall, but scored an impressive 5th place among the World’s Best Low Cost Carriers.

Travellers from across the globe take part each year in the world’s largest airline passenger satisfaction survey to decide the award winners.
