Fresh Faces: MW Tours’ Karen Grayson

MW Tours’ business development manager NSW/ACT KAREN GRAYSON was already keen on the idea of what would become her new role. But what did her daughter say that really sealed the deal?

Where is the last place you travelled?

Liverpool, England, escorting a group for the Netball World Cup. This also took me to Europe – Switzerland, Austria, Germany, France, and the Netherlands.
Prior to that, I visited Sri Lanka and India for the first time, which was totally amazing.

Where are you going next?

Bali, to celebrate my birthday, with Japan next on my to do “bucket list”.

Besides your passport, what’s one thing you always take with you on your travels?

A phone charger and chewy mints.

Why did you move to this role?

I am very much a people person and love talking about my number one passion – travel.

My daughter hit the nail on the head when she read the ad for this position – she said ‘Mum that job describes you totally’.

I had been wanting to move away from consulting for some time and this gave me the perfect opportunity.

Tell us something people might not know about MW Tours?

With MW Tours, your clients are not just on sightseeing tours - they are on an experience of a lifetime.  The value and finer details in every itinerary is truly second to none.

I am of the age group our brochured tours cater for and having been to most of the destinations myself, can see the value each tour offers - unique, niche, handpicked, pretty much sums it up.

What’s the main thing people should know about the company?

Most importantly, the backup support of the MW Tours team, client itinerary presentation, destination information given and genuine care of our local guides that ensures clients have a wonderful trip.

What’s your top travel tip?

When you travel, always aim to immerse yourself in the local culture. Taste the food, do that unique experience and soak up the atmosphere of where you are. Live like a local, go somewhere you have never been before and try something new.
