Opera Australia has recently announced the star-studded lineup for this year's New Year's Eve Opera Gala, set to take place in the iconic Concert Hall at the Sydney Opera House. This highly anticipated event will be co-hosted by soprano extraordinaire and award-winning cabaret sensation, Ali McGregor, alongside the beloved comedian and TV presenter, Adam Hills.

The Gala's stellar cast includes the mesmerizing tenor, Diego Torre, alongside the stunning sopranos, Julie-Lea Goodwin and Sophie Salvesani, and the charismatic baritone, Luke Gabbedy. They will be accompanied by the talented Opera Australia Orchestra, under the baton of Opera Australia's Head of Music, Tahu Matheson.
Ali McGregor, originally a principal soprano with Opera Australia, has since evolved into an award-winning cabaret performer, gracing stages from Glastonbury to Carnegie Hall. She has also founded her own company, FLUXUS, dedicated to nurturing the development of new Australian operas.
A five-time Gold Logie nominee, Adam Hills is one of Australia’s best-known comedians. He is known across Australia for his iconic role as host of ABC TV’s music-orientated quiz show Spicks and Specks and for tv shows, Adam Hills Tonight and The Last Leg, his talk show on the UK’s Channel 4.
