There was a big buzz yesterday at WILD LIFE Sydney Zoo. But it wasn’t the arrival of a new exotic animal or the birth of a cute little koala. No, it was just a gathering of the almost extinct breed of travel media who hadn’t been spotted for ages having been in extended COVID hibernation for the past year!
They were out in force to celebrate the launch of Destination New South Wales brand new media centre.
Hosted by the very affable James Tobin, DNSW put a very swanky and extremely cute lunch on the rooftop of the WILD LIFE Sydney Zoo - complete with cuddly koalas.
More than 30,000 images, videos, B-roll, press releases and editorial-ready content about Sydney and New South Wales will be available to media and content providers.
NSW minister for jobs, investment, tourism and western Sydney, Stuart Ayres said the media play an important role in influencing travellers to visit NSW and the new website was key to fuelling story placements to motivate prospective holidaymakers.
In attendance were representatives from Taronga Zoo, Luna Park, Bridge Climb and the Sydney Opera House who created a feeding frenzy with their generous spot prizes for the function/ prize starved gathered media.
It was a great way to launch this fantastic new resource and a lovely opportunity for everyone to get together and celebrate our own backyard.
The koalas didn’t look too fussed but they we’re definitely the highlight of the day.
