Explora Journeys rolls out Pioneer status perks to travel advisors

Ahead of its maiden journey in July, the luxury cruise line is extending its appreciation to travel advisors everywhere.

Each ship features 461 all-balcony suites and penthouses.

Discounted fares and onboard credit for clients plus bonus commissions and a free suite for themselves are just some of the benefits available to travel advisors who have earned ‘Pioneers’ status with Explora Journeys prior to the brand’s official launch this year.

The new industry appreciation program launched by Explora Journeys will be automatically bestowed on travel advisors who have made at least one booking on the line during its first year of operation, which begins in July.

The burgeoning luxury arm of MSC Cruises, Explora Journeys will set sail on 17 July 2023 with its maiden ship Explora I on its maiden voyage from Southampton to Copenhagen, via the Norwegian Fjords and the Arctic Circle.

Fil Rouge is the line's stunning French inspired restaurant - one of nine onboard.

Advisors holding Pioneers status have already earned a free famil sailing with the line for themselves and a guest, to further develop their knowledge of the line, which can be taken between 17 July 2023 and 31 May 2024.

Further voyages taken beyond that can be booked at special travel advisor fares. Advisors who have qualified for Pioneers status will be notified by their local Business Development Manager.

Incentives to encourage more bookings are also available to Pioneers agents such as a 10% discount on the next five bookings made for departure in 2023 and a 5% saving on the next five bookings made for sailing in 2024. Clients in these bookings will enjoy a €100 onboard credit per person for the first two travellers per suite.

Explora I features an aft-pool deck.

Explora Journeys pays up to 18% commission to its trade partners, with no non-commissionable fees and up to 10% paid on add-ons such as pre and post-cruise extensions.

Further rewards such as bonus commissions for the rest of 2023 will also be available to agents who have referred their colleagues and peers to the line, provided they have subsequently made bookings for their own clients and also earned Pioneers status.

Explora Journeys Chief Sales Officer, Chris Austin, said the start-up luxury cruise line was “sincerely grateful” to its Pioneers and proud to help them grow their business with the right incentives and sales tools.

Explora I will set sail on its maiden voyage on 15 July 2023.

“Our travel agent community is the heart and soul of our industry, and from day one, we have been bold in creating industry-first initiatives to support not only our success but also theirs,” Austin said.

Explora Journeys has taken delivery of the first of six ships to join the line over the next six years, with construction underway on Explora II at the Fincantieri shipyard in Trieste, Italy.

Each ship will cater to 922 passengers across 461 all-balcony suites and penthouses, with all dining, beverages and gratuities included in fares, plus much more.
