Travel agents have once again thrown their support behind Cruise Lines International Association’s (CLIA) annual Plan a Cruise Month, putting on cruise-themed events and running cruise campaigns to raise awareness of cruising and encourage clients to book a cruise holiday.
To reward their efforts throughout October, CLIA Australasia is offering weekly prizes to CLIA accredited agents who make a deposited cruise booking in October. Each week, top selling agents are in the running for free cruises, Champagne and double passes to the 2018 CLIA Cruise Industry Awards.
Joanne Rothwell from itravel Surry Hills has won the first of four cruise giveaways and is looking forward to taking a trip to Tasmania on Norwegian Cruise Lines’ Norwegian Jewel next month.
"I’m so excited to win this. The support from CLIA and also my team from itravel head office has been phenomenal. They make selling cruises so easy,” Joanne said.
The agency or agent who markets Plan a Cruise Month in the most creative way and shares their activity on social media incorporating #cruisemonth also goes in a weekly draw to win $1000 in co-op marketing funds. Agents just need to follow and tag CLIA Australasia on Twitter or Facebook and include #cruisemonth in their post.
The winner of the first $1000 marketing cheque is Helloworld Featherston Street Wellington in New Zealand for their efforts in promoting cruising across their social channels including offering tips from their clients who have cruised to sharing photos and information about cruise lines.
Helloworld Featherston Street Manager Carla Schollum said her team loved cruising and the money would go towards cruise events that she has planned during October.
Plan a Cruise Month takes place each October with CLIA offices around the world working with CLIA accredited agents and CLIA member cruise lines to promote cruise holidays.
