FRESH FACES: Norwegian Cruise Line’s Ben Angell

Ben Angell, new Vice President and General Manager, Norwegian Cruise Line, Australia and New Zealand, says he’s thrilled to part of the ambitious NCL journey. But what’s the more humble item that accompanies him on every trip he takes?

Where is the last place you travelled?

Fiji, with the family. Highlights included teaching my 4-year-old to snorkel, surfing Cloudbreak and lunch on a deserted island.

Where are you going next?

Europe, for NCL’s Norwegian Encore inaugural with some of our most valued trade and media partners.

Our newest and most incredible ship, Encore features an incredible lineup of signature dining venues, a race track three football fields long, a VR wonderland and entertainment including Kinky Boots - winner of six Tony Awards and exclusively on Norwegian Encore.

Besides your passport, what’s one thing you always take with you on your travels?

A book. I love to read non-fiction and there’s nowhere better to read uninterrupted than in the air.

Why did you move to this role?

NCL is a world class brand with unrivalled growth and opportunity ahead, not least in the AU/NZ region. I’m thrilled to be a part of the journey.

Tell us something people might not know about the company?

We are most well-known for our unique Hawaii product, but with 17 ships (including Encore) and more than 300 destinations, NCL has the world covered. Europe is a highlight, where we’ve been voted Europe’s leading cruise line 12 years in a row.
