How your friends, family can help pay for your next cruise

After pioneering weddings at sea in 1998, Princess Cruises launches a new initiative for couples.

In a move that somewhat redefines the traditional wedding registry, Princess Cruises has launched its Honeymoon Wishes Registry.

Aiming to help newlyweds enjoy the “honeymoon of their dreams”, the new online registry enables couples to select their desired gifts to enhance their cruise holiday and share the details with family and friends.

According to Princess Cruises, presents are applied as onboard credit to the couple’s room account and can go towards wining and dining, spa treatments and shore excursions, among other things.

Couples can also direct family and friends to the registry by creating a wedding website to share photos and details about how they met, their engagement and wedding.

“With many couples already living together before marriage, the traditional home-start gifts are often not needed so newlyweds can now ask their guests to contribute to their dream honeymoon,” Princess Cruises Vice President Australia & New Zealand Stuart Allison said.
