Intrepid Travel reveals 2024/25 Antarctica expedition season

Three brand new itineraries headline the company’s strong expedition line-up scheduled for the frozen continent.

Intrepid Travel has revealed its 2024/25 Antarctic expedition season.

Breaching whales, penguin colonies, seals and the towering glaciers of the Antarctica Peninsula are just some of the highlights from three new itineraries included in Intrepid Travel’s new 2024/2025 Antarctica season, which features a total of 13 trips which will explore more of the South Georgia Islands.

The company’s Antarctica program includes a wide range of activities and experiences such as Zodiac wildlife viewings, the polar plunge, Citizen Science projects, a photography program, kayaking, snow camping and snow shoeing.

The three new itineraries include the 21-day ‘Shackleton’s Falklands, South Georgia and Antarctica’, priced from $21,940 per person twin share. Guests will see breaching whales, explore the Falkland Islands and witness the penguin colonies of South Georgia before passing through the famous Drake’s Passage.

Travellers will be in prime position to see amazing wildlife spectacles.

The 12-day ‘Best of Antarctica: Whale Discovery’ itinerary was designed particularly for wildlife-enthusiasts, following the migration paths of humpback whales while discovering sea birds, penguins and seals. It is priced from $11,790 per person twin share.

Guests on this tour can also take part in Citizen Science programs to help onboard scientists identify and track whale movement for critical research studies.

For those who want to do it all, the 23-day ‘Ultimate Antarctic: Falklands, South Georgia and the Circle’ is for you. This new itinerary covers all the highlights while also travelling south of the Antarctica Circle before reaching 66°33’S in latitude at the end of the earth. It is priced from $28,280ppts.

The 2024/2025 range also features a new pricing approach to provide travellers with a better deposit structure and better lead in pricing for each cabin category.

Deposits were previously set at a fixed 20 per cent. For the new season, Intrepid will offer a lower fixed deposit of $1,500 for trips 14 days and under, and $3,000 for trips longer than 14 days.
