Ponant has unveiled plans to launch a new ultra-boutique motor yacht experience in partnership with high-end pearling company, Paspaley.
The two organisations, which together bring 84 years of experience in the region, have joined forces to launch and operate the new 30-guest Paspaley Pearl boutique yacht, which will begin sailing the north-western Australian region from June next year.
M/Y Paspaley Pearl will be the only boutique expedition yacht offering private balconies to travellers, who will also enjoy luxury accommodation on a range of itineraries ranging from seven to 14 nights, sailing round-trip from Broome to the Kimberley, Indonesia’s Raja Ampat and Spice Islands and Papua New Guinea.
Ponant Chairwoman Asia-Pacific, Sarina Bratton, said the launch of Paspaley Pearl was a milestone for the company and in the development of boutique expedition operations.

“With our long-term relationship and vast combined experience, this venture is a testament to our joint commitment to sharing unique and exclusive experiences to discerning travellers.”
Paspaley Executive Chairman, Nicholas Paspaley, said guests can enjoy the best of the pearling routes pioneered by his family company in the 1970s.
“An in-depth immersion into and understanding of the pearling industry will enrich many,” Paspaley said.
The Paspaley pearl company has nearly 100 years of experience diving and collecting mother-of-pearl shells off the coast of Northern Australia, with the company cultivating its pearls on a 2,500-kilometre network of farms in the region.
Bookings for the year-round expedition open from next month.
