Scenic opens 2025/26 Antarctic season for earlybird bookings

High demand for another season in the frozen continent has led to a flurry of early access offers from Scenic.

Scenic Eclipse and its newer sister will both sail Antarctica this summer.

Luxury itineraries to Antarctica in 2025/26 with Scenic can now be secured after the company introduced savings of up to $8,500 per person on expedition voyages in the southern polar region.

In response to high demand for these once-in-a-lifetime trips, Scenic has opened the season ahead of schedule for keen adventurers eager to secure their spot onboard, with special super early bird pricing and airfare offers now available for a limited time.

Guests will experience the remotest parts of this region, as Scenic’s Discovery Yachts offer extensive exploration by Zodiac, helicopter, submersible, kayak, and stand-up paddleboard.

Scenic Eclipse only has up to 200 guests on board to maximise opportunities for multiple landings each day with extended time on shore.

Travellers will explore remote corners of the frozen continent and see native wildlife.

Highlights of the 2025/2026 program include the 13-day ‘Antarctica Highlights’, perfect for first-time visitors with opportunities to cruise through the Beagle Channel, admire the Andean Mountains of Tierra del Fuego and traverse the 11-kilometre-long Lemaire Channel.

Travellers can also spot unique wildlife, explore the remnants of a derelict whaling station or climb to the rim of a volcanic crater.

Scenic is offering five departures between November 2025 and February 2026, with prices starting from $24,595 per person, with savings available from $2,000 per person.

For the ultimate expedition, another option is the 25-day ‘Mawson’s Antarctica: Along the East Coast’. Disembark in Commonwealth Bay and navigate through the icy landscapes to Mawson’s Hut at Cape Denison, one of just six still surviving from the so-called ‘heroic era’ of Antarctic exploration.

Explore Sir Ernest Shackleton's hut from the explorer's legendary polar expedition.

You’ll see the windswept and remote Balleny Islands, heavily glaciated and receiving few visitors since their discovery in 1839. This area is teeming with diverse wildlife, including humpback, fin and minke whales along with crabeater, Weddell, elephant, and leopard seals.

The sailing departs on December 13, 2025, and prices start from $40,325 per person, with savings available from $8,500 per person.

Scenic Group GM Sales and Marketing APAC, Anthony Laver, said: “In response to the high demand for once-in-a-lifetime Antarctica expedition voyages, guests are encouraged to explore ‘Antarctica your Way’, with a collection of Antarctica Voyages, perfect for varying types of expedition travel.

“Exclusive experiences include exploring the McMurdo Dry Valleys in East Antarctica, a landscape that has been compared to the surface of Mars and is only accessible by helicopter."

Both Scenic Eclipse and Scenic Eclipse II will spend the upcoming Southern Summer in Antarctica before the newer of the two vessels enters Sydney Harbour for the first time in 2024.
