Viking Cruises is launching a series of trade training emails for agents eager to learn about Viking Expeditions – the cruise line’s new standard in expedition voyages.
Agents who register to receive the seven weekly emails commencing Monday 18 May 2020 will learn about the incredible industry firsts that Viking’s two purpose-built ships will offer to their clients, as well as how booking a Viking Expedition voyage benefits both agents and clients.
"Our bespoke Viking Expeditions trade training email program is perfect for agents who are looking for opportunities to up-skill while spending more time at home," said Erin Kramer, Trade Marketing Manager, Viking Cruises ANZ.
"By boosting your expertise in this increasingly popular category, you maximise your opportunities to increase your commission too. And with departures in 2022 and 2023, all backed by our Risk-Free Guarantee, Viking offers your clients peace of mind to plan in advance."
The first 378-guest purpose-built expedition ship, Viking Octantis, launches in January 2022 on voyages to Antarctica and then North America’s Great Lakes. A second expedition vessel, Viking Polaris, will debut in August 2022, sailing to Antarctica and the Arctic.
The ships will boast incredible industry-first features such as two complimentary underwater submersibles; an enclosed, in-ship marina called ‘The Hangar’ that allows for the safe and comfortable launch of small excursion craft through the ship’s multiple shell doors; and an onboard Laboratory, where resident scientists will conduct important research which guests can take part in, as part of Viking’s Cultural Curriculum.
Meanwhile, Viking is delivering the peace of mind travellers need to plan their future journeys with confidence, backed by the cruise line’s Risk-Free Guarantee, now extended until 29 May 2020.
Viking’s newly extended Risk-Free Guarantee allows clients to change or postpone their cruise up to 24 hours before their planned departure. Applicable to any reservation made before 29 May 2020, Viking will provide a Future Cruise Voucher for the full value of the amount paid, valid for 24 months.
And to encourage clients to consider turning travel dreams into future journeys, Viking has launched a new interactive digital catalogue called ‘Journeys Worth Planning’ – now available for agents to customize at Viking’s Marketing Centre.
The e-catalogue includes a curated selection of destination insights as well as new and popular itineraries departing 2021-2023, including brand new voyages to the Arctic, Antarctic, Great Lakes of North America and the Mississippi River. Special offers are available for each itinerary, including savings of up to AUD$5,000 per couple* when they book before 31 July 2020.
Viking will launch Journeys Worth Planning through a wide-reaching marketing campaign across print, digital and social media channels, designed to stimulate demand from consumers and in turn, support travel partners.
