Fiji is more than just beaches and palm trees. And if you should ever tire of relaxing on its golden shores (as if), you could always check these off your list.
For some reason (the beaches), Fiji isn’t always synonymous with adventure, but whether you are an active lone ranger, a group on a quest for adventure, or a family with a pint size daredevil in tow, Fiji truly offers something for everyone. With so much to see and do, try and taste, learn and experience, Fiji can keep the mildly inquisitive to the flat out adventurous active from dawn until dusk.
ON THE WATER
Given that Fiji is only ten percent land, it’s no wonder that there is A LOT to do both above and below the surface.
While many visitors to Fiji know about the wonders they can discover via snorkelling and scuba diving, there’s also a great deal of fun that can be had ON the water like white water rafting, river kayak adventures and world-class surfing (and not just at Cloudbreak).
JUST HANGING AROUND
People relax in different ways. Some lie on the beach, other blow off steam while abseiling or zip-lining. You can do it all in Fiji. You can take in the views from a hammock on the beach or as you parasail over the calm South Pacific Ocean. You can even turn up the thrill factor and take a bird’s eye view of the islands as you hurl yourself out of a plane and into an adrenalin charged free-fall.
AND NEXT YEAR...
66 teams from more than 30 different countries will be competing in World’s Toughest Race: Eco-Challenge Fiji, an Amazon TV show hosted by Bear Grylls. So next time you think Fiji is just gorgeous beaches and amazing resorts, tune in to see what else you can get up to.
