The Bunnik Group’s first mega-famil to Sri Lanka has come to a close with a farewell dinner in Colombo.
Held at the capital city’s famous Galle Face Hotel, the evening saw 45 top selling travel agents from Australia dine with the Sri Lankan Tourism Promotion Bureau (SLTPB) following a ten-day trip exploring the sights of the island nation, which endured a deadly terrorist attack in April but came through the turbulence.
“Tourism is an incredible force for good when done properly. We’ve been helping Australians explore Sri Lanka for 15 years and have a long and close connection with this beautiful destination,” said Bunnik joint CEO Dennis Bunnik, who led the tour with Marion Bunnik.
“As part of the worldwide travel industry I believe it is our role to counteract the insidious trend of spreading fear and doubt.
“Australians are some of the world’s most avid travellers. By continuing to travel and explore we build bridges, not walls, creating understanding between cultures and generating economic and social benefits in the places we visit.
“That’s a good thing and something we’re really proud to be a part of.”
