Bali airport now open for photo shoots

As pretty as its beaches, paddy fields and resorts are, Bali has a new location for those wanting a unique backdrop for their photo shoots: the airport.

In a move that is hoped to generate revenue for the airport, officials announced Bali Ngurah Rai International Airport is now open for photoshoots, the Bali Sun reported.

“This is a new service that we can now offer guests since the beginning of June 2021,” Stakeholder Relation Manager of Angkasa Pura I, Ltd for the Ngurah Rai Airport, Taufan Yudhistira said.

According to Yudhistira, customers (possibly those looking for pre-wedding photoshoot locations) can pay IDR 5 million (AUD450) for four hours use of the airport facility, with an additional IDR 1 million (AUD90) per added hour.

“Although we haven’t had any bookings, we received good response while promoting it on our social media.” Yudhistira said.

For those who want to shoot inside the airport, special approval will need to be granted, he added.

“We need to discuss with the management and other airport operators, so the photoshoot will not disrupt operations, safety and regulations.”
