Japan does it again with this genius invention

As if you needed another reason to head to Japan, the country that has given the world an insight into the melding of the ancient and futuristic (and that lady who makes us throw away stuff that doesn't bring us joy) has produced spreadable coffee. Spreadable. Coffee.

The Japanese are renowned for their punctuality. Because of genius life hacks like this.

Don't have time to wait for your coffee to cool? No more! Eat your coffee as only the truly civilised do.

The product reportedly has the consistency of peanut butter, but with all the delicious goodness of your morning coffee, Kotaku reports.

Created by Snow Brand Milk in celebration of the 55th anniversary of its coffee (repeated double digit anniversaries are a big deal in Japan), the spreadable coffee is already a big hit with toast, pancakes and anything else. Though the desire to eat it straight with a spoon may be hard for some to resist.
