Under the Entire Travel Connection banner, New Caledonia Travel Connection will join the likes of French Travel Connection, Spain & Portugal Travel Connection and Tahiti Travel Connection.

“We have no doubt that having a dedicated tour operator will be a huge win for the destination, and one with such a strong and established profile within the Australian market will be sure to enhance the destination’s appeal,” NCTPS tourism director Jean-Michel Foutrein said at the announcement, which was made at a Sydney event held in conjunction with the 2016 French Film Festival.

Entire Travel Connection managing director Brad McDonnell said Australia’s closet Pacific neighbour had a lot to offer the Aussie traveller, including its French sophistication yet culturally diverse and rich atmosphere.

“This expansion has been in the pipeline for some time and it is a proud moment to see it come to fruition at such an exciting time for the destination," Mr McDonnell said.

“We see huge potential with New Caledonia and we look forward to sharing our passion and invaluable tips to help agents create unique itineraries for their clients.”

New Caledonia saw 16 percent year-on-year growth in Australian visitor numbers in 2015, and the island nation is confident numbers will only increase.

“New Caledonia has never been in better shape for tourism growth … With increased connectivity via the national carrier Aircalin, global investment and product development,” Mr Foutrein said.

“The year ahead is looking bigger than ever and ambitious targets have been set to ensure that tourism growth continues.”

To mark this week’s announcement, NCTPS, New Caledonia Travel Connection, Aircalin and GLP Hotels have launched an agent incentive, offering one lucky person the chance to win a five-night holiday in New Caledonia.
