Alicia Jessop may have lost a $30 lobster roll, but at least she got a one-in-a-lifetime story out of it.
A sports law professor, Ms Jessop was on short break in Maine when she stopped for some lobster, one of two things she wanted to do whilst in the state; the other was to see a lighthouse.
Whilst enjoying her lobster roll in York, she decided to take a photo for Instagram.
This is why we can’t have nice things. I was trying to take a picture of the lobster roll I ordered in Maine and well, this happened ?????????????? pic.twitter.com/N601vpQ41h— Alicia Jessop (@RulingSports) June 7, 2019
With a lighthouse in the background it would’ve been the perfect pic - had it not been for a brave seagull who not only photobombed the picture, but took off with Jessop’s delicious-looking roll as well.
“This is why we can’t have nice things. I was trying to take a picture of the lobster roll I ordered in Maine and well, this happened,” she wrote on Instagram.
According to CNN, Jessop had framed the lobster roll perfectly for the picture, but as she looked up from her phone, saw the seagull swoop in.
“I was super embarrassed when it happened because you hear stories of people falling off cliffs trying to get Instagram pictures,” Jessop explained. “I’m like,’Ooh my gosh I’m that person right now.'”
She realised she had taken the pic whilst on her way back to the lobster shack for round two.
“I must have pushed the button as he was swooping in because I didn’t realize that I had captured the picture as it happened,” Jessop said.
Have you ever had a photobomb like this?
