Where you can have your cake and eat it (on a NYC subway)

We all get the munchies on the train. But you’re not always allowed to eat on them. So what about decorating a cake?

Manhattan has a bit of a reputation for being crowded and not too friendly, so what else would a frustrated culinary student and a performance artist do but take a seat onboard the subway, unpack a cake and proceed to decorate it alongside her somewhat confused commuters.

Once finished the culinary student then passed around plates and cutlery and offered slices around.

When asked why she did it, she said that while we are in the private space of others onboard the subway, “New Yorkers aren’t very personable with each other”.

“I think it’s important to have some kind of community.”

Check out the ninth minute for a bit of a nice moment.
