The selected travel agents will fly with Air New Zealand across the Tasman, and enjoy one of 10 jam-packed itineraries across the North or South Island before flying into Wellington for a day of group training.

From exploring the extraordinary Franz Josef glacier to enjoying gourmet wine tours, visiting the Waitomo glow worm caves and dolphin watching in the Bay of Islands, each of the itineraries is designed to showcase the diverse trips travellers can experience in Aotearoa.

Applications to join the famil are now open at, with 100 places up for grabs. To be eligible, agents must complete 10 online modules of the 100% Pure New Zealand Specialist Programme and submit an application of interest.

Following the seven day trip, each of the agents will return to Australia as a fully certified 100% Pure New Zealand Gold Specialist.

Tourism New Zealand General Manager Tony Saunders said the famil is a key initiative for Tourism New Zealand and Air New Zealand to engage with travel agents and showcase autumn in New Zealand.

“We’re excited to be able to engage Australia’s best travel agents and help them on their way to achieving 100% Pure New Zealand gold status.

“New Zealand holds its place as the top holiday destination for Australians and we’re proud to once again partner with Air New Zealand to help equip travel agents with knowledge to continue to sell New Zealand any time of year.”

Air New Zealand Regional General Manager Australia Kathryn Robertson says trade plays a key role in raising awareness of New Zealand as a destination and the ease of trans-Tasman travel.

“We provide customers with unparalleled frequency across the Tasman and onward connectivity to the 21 domestic New Zealand destinations Air New Zealand operates to. We look forward to welcoming the successful Australian travel agents to New Zealand.”
