When in Barcelona, visit the glorious Torre Glòries

With a shimmering exterior, this building is one of the most recognisable landmarks in Barcelona.

The attraction features an observation deck on the 38th floor.

Torres Glòries is a stunning skyscraper its unique design and shimmering exterior make it one of the most recognisble landmarks in Barcelona.

The facade is covered in over 60,000 glass and aluminium panels, which create a mosaic of colours that change depending on the angle of the sun. This effect is particularly striking at night when the building is illuminated from within.

Inside is the newly opened Mirador Torre Glories, an art installation and observatory that provides a fresh look at Barcelona.

The visit begins with Hyperview Barcelona, a dynamic space with artistic installations created using  real-time data on Barcelona.

Torres Glòries is presented as a living organism that beats, with rhythms and cycles where people, ecosystems, infrastructures and technologies all intertwine. Visitors then ride in a glass elevator to the observation deck on the 38th floor. The deck provides a 360° view of the city including the famous landmarks Sagrada Familia, Park Güell and the Gothic Quarter.

Suspended in the dome of the building is Cloud Cities Barcelona, an interactive artwork by artist Tomás Saraceno. Visitors can climb through the installation which is made up of six kilometres of tensioned cables, connected by five thousand nodes.

Overall, a visit to Torres Glories is a must for anyone interested in architecture or modern design and for the common tourist, provides an excellent view of the city’s layout and skyline.

The price of a general admission ticket is €15, with inclusion of the Cloud Cities experience taking the fee to €25.
