Visit Dallas and Visit Fort Worth have wrapped up another successful sales mission in Sydney and Brisbane.
The annual event commenced at Sydney Showground, with Dallas and Fort Worth participating in their first consumer activation with the hosting of a duelling electric bull riding competiton at BBQ and music festival, Meatstock Sydney.
Over 18,000 people attended the event over the weekend and the cities also manned an information stand, handing out brochures, branded sun glasses and stubby holders.
Austin Allsup, finalist in the 11th season of The Voice in the US was flown in from Fort Worth by Qantas and the two cities to perform during the mission’s events.
Austin also performed for the cities at the Visit Fort Worth, Visit Dallas and Qantas hosted media and industry events in Sydney in between presentations from Visit Dallas President Phillip Jones and Visit Fort Worth President Bob Jameson.
The media and trade events were held at Surly’s American Barbecue Bar in Surry Hills, where guests were able to experience a taste of Texan hospitality.
Media were also treated to a tipple of Firestone & Robertson’s TX whiskey with a bespoke cocktail served at the event.
In Brisbane, over 80 industry representatives were updated on the cities at an event held at Moo Moo Wine Bar Grill, again entertained by Austin Allsup.
Many thanks to Qantas for co-sponsoring the media event in Sydney and the industry events in both Sydney and Brisbane. Three lucky lucky door winners will now be winging their way to Dallas, Fort Worth and the US, with prizes provided by the airline.
