A new alternative route has just been announced to The Islands of Tahiti, via New Caledonia.

The New Caledonian flag carrier Aircalin has confirmed Australian travellers will be able to transit in Nouméa to go to Papeete, Tahiti in April and June 2022 on the following dates:
Outside of these dates, you are still able to travel to The Islands of Tahiti which includes spending a few days in New Caledonia - meaning Australians can enjoy a holiday visiting two Pacific island destinations!
