Mark your calendars – the South Pacific Tourism Exchange is heading to Fiji in 2024.
After seven years being hosted in Australia and New Zealand, the South Pacific Tourism Organisation (SPTO) has confirmed Nadi will provide the setting for the organisation’s next conference and business marketplace from 4-5 May 2024.
In collaboration with Tourism Fiji, the 2024 South Pacific Tourism Exchange (SPTE) will bring suppliers and buyers from across the Pacific tourism landscape to meet, network and conduct business in Fiji for the first time.
The event will run in tandem with Tourism Fiji’s own show, Fijian Tourism Exchange, which will immediately follow from 6-7 May 2024, also in Nadi.
Fiji Ministry of Tourism and Civil Aviation, Permanent Secretary, Salaseini Daunabuna, said the commitment to host South Pacific Tourism Exchange in 2024 underlines the Fijian Government’s pledge to strengthen regional cooperation.
“The Fiji government is fully supportive of having SPTE lead into FTE in Fiji in 2024,” Daunabuna said.
“This will not only enable enhanced regional engagement but also conveys Fiji’s commitment to supporting the development of the Pacific Tourism industry. We look forward to working with SPTO in making this collaboration both mutually beneficial and highly successful”.
Businesses eager to exhibit and attend the event will soon find more information on the SPTE website with details on how to register and make plans to attend the showpiece event.
SPTO Chief Executive, Christopher Cocker, said the event would be a milestone for the organisation.
“I would like to sincerely thank the Ministry of Tourism and Civil Aviation, Tourism Fiji and the SPTO Marketing Board Sub Committee for their guidance and support,” Cocker said.
“SPTE is our premier event and we are thrilled to be bringing it back into the Pacific in 2024.”
