Best Western set to expand ‘Aiden’ brand to Western Australia

Development will soon begin on Australia’s second Aiden, following the success of the boutique brand’s debut at Sydney’s Darling Harbour

Aiden SCQ in Perth will be the boutique hotel's second Australian location when it opens in 2026.

Boutique hotel brand Aiden is continuing its expansion in Australia with BWH Hotels and Resorts confirming a second property is on its way to Western Australia.

The new-build 120-room Aiden SCQ in Perth will be the brand’s first hotel in Western Australia, joining Aiden Darling Harbour in Sydney which opened last year.

Comprised of 80 rooms and 40 apartments, the six-storey hotel will be the anchor tenant to the new-build urban precinct, Sydney Charles Quarter (SCQ), with construction on the interconnected village commencing in mid-2024 and completion estimated for mid-2026.

Aiden SCQ will feature a rooftop bar and restaurant, conference and event spaces, outdoor event lawn and pool with a poolside lounge area.

“Aiden’s extraordinary global success story continues with remarkable growth and high demand in the Australasian region,” said BWH Hotels Australasia Director of Development, Danilo Curcuruto.

“We’re excited to introduce this trendsetting lifestyle brand to the new, exciting precinct of Perth’s Sydney Charles Quarter, confident it will thrive and contribute to its remarkable journey.”

Sydney Charles Quarter will be a mixed-use development area bounded by Charles Street, Newcastle Street, Golding Street and Old Aberdeen Place, located on 2.2 hectares.

Stage one of the precinct will include six buildings comprising Aiden SCQ, residential apartments, co-living micro-apartments, commercial office space, fitness, food and beverage offerings, a gourmet supermarket, event spaces, potential for artist’s residences and more than 500 parking spaces.

Since the opening of Aiden Darling Harbour in February 2022, the Aiden brand has grown rapidly throughout the world and received international acclaim for its 14 properties located in the U.S., Germany, Austria, South Korea, France and Italy. Another 30 Aiden properties recently opened in Scandinavia.
