First house Gaudi designed to open for guests

Casa Vicens was renowned architect Antoni Gaudi’s first ever commission and it will soon be open for guests.

Built in 1885 for a local Barcelona family, the UNESCO World Heritage building has listed a one night stay on Airbnb.

Said to be one of the first buildings of the Art Nouveau movement, the house, both inside and out, is a riotous mix of colors.

The ground floor dining room features original wooden furniture designed by Gaudí himself. While the smoking room features plasterwork on the ceiling that replicates palm trees and walls laid with intricate papier-mâché tiles.

Highlights from the stay will include:

- A special welcome tour with Emili, your Host, who is part of the team that transformed this historic house into a house museum.

- Unprecedented access to this 19th century single-family summer house designed by the one and only Antoni Gaudí.

- The opportunity to taste a Gaudí inspired Michelin star menu in a truly unique space followed by a delicious nightcap in ‘the smoking room’.

- A full mediterranian breakfast in the lush private city garden (best croissants in town included!).

While not everyone will be able to take advantage of an overnight stay, visitors to Barcelona can still head to Casa Vicens to tour the house which is also a museum. For more details, head to https://casavicens.org.
