HOTEL REVIEW: Hotel X Brisbane Fortitude Valley

Situated in the heart of Fortitude Valley, Brisbane’s nightlife district, Hotel X is a boutique 146-room destination. Its rooms have a distinctive edge and when teamed with its rooftop poolside restaurant and bar with panoramic city views, definitely has the X factor.

I’m here for two nights but when I see the gym and both the restaurants, experience the quality of staff from room service, concierge and valet, I only wish I could stay longer.

Check in was very efficient, fast and friendly. Staff know that you want to get to the main event (the room) as quickly as possible. And when I get in there, I can see why.

Whilst not a massive space it’s compact luxury comfort.

The king size bed is very easy to fall asleep in and equally hard to get out of. I blame the super soft sheets and big firm pillows. It could also have been the easy-to-use smart panel at the bedside that controls the lighting, TV and curtains, which unfortunately didn’t have a ‘make me a cup of morning tea’ button!

There’s a great mini bar with a huge selection of premixed cocktails and of course there’s tea and coffee.

This room is tops for comfort style and functionality! It’s also whisper quiet which for this light sleeper is an added bonus.

The bathroom is all edgy black and white with bathroom scales, salon quality hair dryer and luxury Karl Lagerfeld lotions. There’s no bath but a big beautiful rain shower head more than makes up for it.

I have a thing for rooftop bars so the Iris is the lure I need to leave my room. This restaurant and bar has definitely got the wow factor and the delicious tapas whilst enjoying the city views is a highlight of my stay.

The pool is on the roof too and even on a Brisbane winter’s day looks very enticing.

Bison Bisou, is a second restaurant on the ground floor is a French brasserie style definitely on the list for my next river city stay.

All in all I loved my stay here at the X. Style, comfort and location - all Xcellent!!
