Hotel Review - Wananavu Beach Resort Fiji

Address: Kings Road, Rakiraki, Fiji

Website address:

Room number and floor: 22

Cost of room: From FJ$225 (AU$130) per person per night

Number of rooms: 34 Bures

Star rating: 4.5 stars

How was the welcome and service at reception?

The reception staff greet guests either at the jetty or at the front entrance. A welcome drink is provided upon arrival and my bags are taken care of straight away.

Room size and features:

Stunning rooms in a typical 'island' motif. Rooms feature a comfortable double bed, bar fridge, coffee and tea facilities, high ceilings (with exposed beams), dark wooden floors and walls, and an opulent bathroom with a clear glass shower wall, which overlooks a garden.

There's also a big deck that faces the ocean for unbeatable views.

Is WiFi readily available and at what cost?

Wi-Fi is charged at FJ$5 for 30mins, $9 for 60mins, $20 for 24 hours and $50 for a week.

What facilities does the property offer?

Free facilities and activities include the leisure pool, tennis courts, volleyball, guided morning walks, fish feeding, coconut tree climbing and snorkelling.

There's also horse riding in a local village only 30 minutes away, fishing trips (for a fee), and plenty of cruises that take you to remote islands.

Scuba diving is a main feature of the property as it offers nitrox tanks at an exclusive rate.

Baby sitting services are available from $4 per hour (minimum 4 hours).

What dining options are there on site?

An affordable main restaurant that covers breakfast, lunch and dinner. Choices range from local seafood and meat dishes to your standard, but very good, pasta and pizza meals.

Did you find the location convenient?

Situated around 2 hours 15 minutes from Nadi Airport by road, the resort is located far enough away from the busy tourist areas to create a secluded paradise setting.

Would you recommend the property as suitable for couples, families or groups?

The resort is designed for couples and groups, especially for those interested in getting married on-site.

What was the best thing about the property?

The views are breathtaking, especially from the rooms.

A special mention should go to the resort's staff, who were attentive and always made you feel right at home.

And the thing you would most like to change?

With an amazing outlook, the dining area is set to be refurbished. The on-site management team say they are planning a 'transformation' of the establishment.

Would you stay there again?
Yes - and to hopefully spend more time enjoying the view while working on the deck of my room.
