Review: Embassy Suites by Hilton Waikiki Beach Walk

JENNY ROWLAND checks into a Honolulu star, and finds a property ideal for families, couples and in her case, a girls’ getaway.

Only a stone’s throw from famous Waikiki Beach, and set amongst the main shops and hustle and bustle, Embassy Suites by Hilton Waikiki Beach Walk is a spacious and affordable place to stay on your next Hawaiian vacation.

I stayed in a two-bedroom suite with three girlfriends on a girls’ getaway and had two enormous king-size beds, with a sofa bed in the lounge (in case of any errant snorers!), two decent sized bathrooms, and a kitchenette with microwave, fridge and kettle (there were also handy ice stations on each floor).

With ocean views and our own lounge room, the suite was so spacious that even four women could have comfortably spread out - and enjoyed their own televisions too (yes, one in each bedroom and the lounge!). Not that we're here to watch TV!

The location of the Embassy is great, with a huge array of shopping and dining options on your doorstep. Right outside is an entertainment plaza, where there's always something Hawaiian happening – be it music, dance or some happy "hula-ing".

Befitting Hawaiian hospitality, the staff here are super friendly and helpful, and the daily complimentary breakfast is enough to keep you going for a week.

But the free nightly poolside drinks are a really special touch that guarantee to get any evening off to a good start. Shane, our lovely bar tender, doesn't seem to follow the one optic shot rule either! Cheers Shane, and Embassy Suites by Hilton Waikiki Beach Walk!

Look out for our Hawaii competition coming soon
