Crooked Compass launches NEW foodie tours

The next best thing to international travel, Crooked Compass is bringing the world to you with the launch of two foodie walking day tours, Taste the World and Taste of Afghanistan, Syria and Persia, located in Western Sydney.


In true Crooked Compass style, explore exotic lands and rich culture, although this time through your tastebuds, sampling the incredible cuisine and hospitality available in our own backyard. Meet local business-owners and producers who share their warmth, generosity and amazing stories.


Journey through the Balkans, Middle East, and India on 
Taste the World. A knowledgeable local guide will tell you the stories behind the food and shops. Sample some of the best dosa, burek, burfi, manoush and falafel to be had in Sydney. Buy from local producers who have their own farms and smokehouses. The tour is vegetarian friendly and is perfect for bread and pastry lovers.

Traditional recipes have made a long journey on the 
Taste of Afghanistan, Syria and Persia. This cultural tour takes you through the dishes brought to Australia by our newest refugee communities. Hear the stories of the talented refugee guides, chefs and business owners. Indulge in delicious hearty dishes like Afghan bread and dumplings, Syrian breakfast, Persian treats, sweets and ice-cream and spiced teas.


Crooked Compass is partnering to operate the tours with a local social enterprise who provides training to Australian migrants, refugees and local youth to offer work opportunities and promote cross-cultural understanding.   

The tours are exclusive Crooked Compass departures and will be accompanied by Crooked Compass Founder, Lisa Pagotto. Book Taste the World on 16
th of June for $85pp and Taste of Afghanistan, Syria and Persia on 2nd or 26th of June for $109pp. Maximum group size is 14 people.
