For a man who describes himself as “quite conservative”, Christian Hunter struggled to contain his excitement as he unveiled a travel industry “revolution”.
Speaking at the Travellers Choice annual conference in Adelaide, Hunter dubbed it as “the most significant announcement that we have ever made.”
“Travellers Choice has worked to develop a bespoke B2B and B2C booking platform that will change our lives as we know them!” said the company’s Managing Director.
Developed in partnership with Vancouver-based software company Snowstorm Technologies and available to all Travellers Choice agencies at no cost, TC One provides the group's members with a single, easy-to-use, highly-intuitive interface from which to book preferred products.
"TC One will initially launch with hotels and activities, however, in 2020 we will be progressively bringing on to the platform our other preferred suppliers – including air, FIT, accommodation, cruise and touring products – delivering our members with unrivalled efficiency gains," said Hunter.
"This is game changing technology for Travellers Choice members and no other independent group has anything like it. The scope is simply immense."
It was a big day for the 250 TC members and suppliers at the Adelaide Convention Centre. The company also announced a new partnership with Cornerstone People Solutions to provide members with a range of bespoke training opportunities.
Dubbed TC Pro, the new program offers TC agents a range of practical and relevant modules, specifically tailored for the group and delivered via web workshops or through face-to-face and group sessions.
"By giving members the ability to tap into first-class training content, TC Pro is ensuring that every Travellers Choice agent has the opportunity to continually develop their skills," says Hunter.
"Not only will this enrich professional lives, it will also deliver business success by ensuring our members and their teams are always equipped, in today's ever-changing and fiercely competitive retail environment, to deliver outstanding customer experiences."
Hunter added that 2019 had been a very successful year for the company, welcoming seven new members to the group and profits growing by 32 per cent to $2.05million.
“Our people really are our future. We cannot do it alone,” added Hunter.
“We need to embrace our people, nurture and develop them, provide them with a safe and positive workplace that encourages curiosity, enables them to have a voice, to really shine and deliver on their potential. Our People, Our Future.”
