According to The Australian, emergency services were called at around 7pm Sunday night after a person “had jumped” during the Sydney Tower Skywalk experience.

“The body of a man was found a short time later, not in public view,” a NSW Police Force spokeswoman said.

“A crime scene has been established which will be examined by forensic specialists.

“Inquiries suggest the incident is self harm related. A report will be prepared for the coroner.”

On its Twitter page last night, operator Sydney Tower Eye said the attraction would be closed “until further notice”.

However, this morning it stated that its “Observation Deck will be open today from 11am until 9:00pm”.

The Sydney Skywalk is a popular tourist attraction, which takes visitors around the outside of NSW’s tallest building.

In May, a woman plummeted over 250 metres when she unclipped her harness at the end of the walk.
