New visa process for Australia’s closest neighbour


Good news for anyone heading to PNG

Just weeks after hosting what was arguably the country’s biggest ever event - APEC 2018 - Papua New Guinea has unveiled a new web-based visa process for PNG-bound travellers.

Announced by the Papua New Guinea Immigration & Citizenship Authority, the new electronic visa application portal allows applicants to submit a visa application through the website www.evisa.ica.gov.pg/evisa/account/Apply

 

Among the visas to be made available online, is the 30-day Tourist Visa, which Aussie passport holders must currently apply for when holidaying in PNG.

 

Other visas now on offer online are:

  • Tourist 60 day (easy visitor permit 60) - Available for tourists to PNG from nationalities who currently have access to Visa on Arrival 
  • Short Term Business visa - Business people who currently have access to Visa on Arrival
  • Aid Worker Volunteer visa and Journalist visa

 

Australian and New Zealand travellers can still apply also for a tourist visa on arrival.  

 

Last month, the PNG Tourism Promotion Authority also officially launched its new-look website
