Home to what’s often dubbed the most dangerous walking path in the world, Huashan Mountain has long been making tourists’ knees tremble with its notoriously dizzying, albeit beautiful, hikes. But nobody would expect to be injured inside its tourist centre.
Several people are lucky to be alive after a ceiling decoration suddenly collapsed inside the Huashan Mountain Tourist Centre in Huayin City in China’s Shaanxi Province.
Footage of the incident shows tourists making their way down an escalator, when a wave of debris comes crashing down them.
At least nine people were injured in the freak accident, Associated Press reported.
According to AP, an emergency team was quickly on the scene, helping those buried under the debris.
Those requiring treatment were sent to a nearby hospital.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the accident, while the affected area is closed down.
