‘Significant benefits’ for agents in new ETG, CIT merger

Powerful new European wholesale specialist created

In a link-up of European wholesale travel powerhouses, Entire Travel Group (ETG) and CIT Holidays have announced they will merge from 1 July 2018.

ETG Managing Director Brad McDonnell

The merger brings together over 70 years of combined experience, with ETG launching in 1991 and CIT more than 45 years ago as an Italian, and later also Swiss, travel specialist. Last year, CIT also acquired Canada & Alaska Specialist Holidays.

Under the agreement, CIT’s brands will operate under the Entire Travel Group umbrella, joining ETG’s already established brands French Travel Connection, Tahiti Travel Connection, Spain & Portugal Travel Connection, New Caledonia Travel Connection and Barge Travel Connection.

“Combining our respective knowledge, expertise and experience will allow us to offer our travel agency partners access to an unparalleled range of European products and services, along with the support of an expanded team of dedicated specialist consultants for each destination,” remarked Entire Travel Group CEO Brad McDonnell.

“In addition, we see clear opportunities to enhance the depth of our product offering across Western Europe through the alignment and expansion of our established on-ground product teams in Italy, France and Spain.”

McDonnell said the merger would also help facilitate improved agency support services, including industry-leading technology platforms.

Greg McCallum, who is currently the Regional Director of Sales for Rocky Mountaineer, has been appointed to the newly-created role of Sales & Marketing Director, effective 21 May 2018.
