South America Tourism Office marks new product with major prizes

Two lucky winners heading to South America

Agents from across New South Wales, Brisbane, the Gold Coast and Canberra have been celebrating the 2019 brochure launch from the South America Tourism Office (SATO).

The South American tour wholesaler hosted three separate events to launch its new 2019 brochure, featuring a brand new small group escorted tour to the Galapagos Islands and Machu Picchu. They have also teamed up with a selection of partners to provide a more specific, comprehensive brochure for Antarctica.

In Sydney, agents were treated to an Argentinean fiesta, which included prizes, a tango lesson and delicious Argentinean inspired cuisine, with guest speakers from Antarctica 21, Explora and LATAM.

In Brisbane and Canberra, agents were treated to a Latin fusion celebration with delicious, traditional finger food, cocktails and more prizes, with guest speakers from One Ocean, Alto Atacama Desert Lodge & Spa, Hotel B in Lima, Australis and The Singular Hotels.

The major prize for the brochure launch in both Sydney and Brisbane was one return airfare to South America flying with LATAM and a four-night, all-inclusive stay at the luxurious Explora Valle Segrado. The lucky winner in Sydney was Teresa Reyes from Travel Managers and in Brisbane, Lalani Pathikirikorale from Cruise & Travel Centre Springwood.

On SATO’s new small group escorted tour to the Galapagos Islands and Machu Picchu clients will be able to follow in the footsteps of Charles Darwin as they explore two islands. They will have the opportunity to swim with sea lions and the endemic Galapagos penguins, witness the marine iguanas, blue footed boobies, frigate birds and the famous giant tortoise.

The new 35-page brochure specialising in Antarctica will help agents and their clients decide on the best experience for them. Antarctica offers snow capped mountains, glaciers and icy channels, along with up-close encounters with King penguins, Elephant seals and Humpback whales.

For thrill-seekers there are also optional activities such as ‘The Polar Plunge’ where travellers brave the freezing the Antarctic waters and take a plunge into the ocean. Guests can also spend a night camping on the ice or kayaking through Antarctic waters.

SATO is currently running its ‘Latin Summer Sale’ where clients can save up to $600 per person. Terms and conditions apply. Agents can order a copy of the new brochure directly from SATO, or from TIFs.
