Who would Australians least like to travel with?

Aussies’ favourite travel companions also revealed

Take a bow, Kyle Sandilands. You’ve been named the Australian Aussie travellers would least want as a companion.


Following the breakfast radio presenter, who garnered 23 percent of votes in a study conducted by, was ex-cricketer Shane Warne (8.2%), and model turned reality TV star, Lara Bingle (6.7%).

Today Show presenter Karl Stefanovic (5.9%) was named fourth worst companion, while tennis star Nick Kyrgios (5.6%) finished in fifth place on the list, which was part of a survey that polled over 1,000 Australians on their best and worst travel partners, as well as their preferred Asia-Pacific destinations.


Internationally, Justin Bieber (27%) was voted the least desirable travel companion, edging Kim Kardashian (20.7%) and hubby, Kanye West (10.9%).


When it comes to those with whom we’d most like to travel, Hugh Jackman easily won out, earning 17.9% of votes, followed by Rebel Wilson (6.1%) and Kylie Minogue (5.8%).


Our favourite travel partners globally were Prince Harry (15.2%) and Kate Middleton (10.8%), followed by Angelina Jolie (10.2%) and singers Taylor Swift and Katy Perry (8.9% and 8% respectively).


“Travelling with someone can be very intense and often requires a lot of patience, so it’s perhaps not surprising that names like Kyle Sandilands failed to make the grade, whilst the likes of general nice guy Hugh Jackman and the hilarious Rebel Wilson sailed through,” brand marketing head Kari Taylor said.


When asked about the preferred APAC destination for their next holiday, Hawaii (37.7%) easily took top honours, followed by Gold Coast (17.5%), Thailand (12%), Melbourne (8.7%), Hong Kong and Singapore (both 7.9%).
