Qantas will be reducing its services operating between Sydney and Ayers Rock from December 4 to June 25, 2025 with Jetstar increasing their flights over this period.
Managing impacted customers
If travellers are impacted by the reduction of the Sydney–Ayers Rock service, there are several options available to assist them, including rebooking with Qantas on a different day, rebooking with Jetstar (see further details below) or the choice of receiving a refund.
A new commercial policy has been introduced for tickets issued on or before October 23, covering travel between December 4 and June 27, 2025.
Options for rebooking with Jetstar
All customers who choose to rebook with Jetstar, will be entitled to a partial refund as Qantas acknowledges there is a product difference from their original booking with Qantas. Please note refunds should only be processed after the passenger has completed their travel.
- Customers holding an economy class booking booked on alternative flights operated by Jetstar on the same date of travel, will receive a refund of 50% of the original base fare paid at the time of booking.
- Customers holding a business class booking booked on alternative flights operated by Jetstar on the same date of travel, will be entitled to the fare difference between business and economy class, plus an additional $200. This refund amount will be calculated by Qantas when the Refund Application is submitted once travel is complete.
