Air Canada to launch Brisbane-Vancouver services in 2016

Air Canada will launch new non-stop flights from Vancouver to Brisbane in June 2016, with the airline operating three services a week using Boeing 787-8 Dreamliners.

Air Canada says the intention is to increase the new year-round services between Vancouver and Brisbane – the airline’s second Australian port after Sydney – to daily, subject to obtaining the necessary government approvals.

Air Canada's state-of-the-art Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner aircraft feature 20 International Business Class lie-flat seat suites, 21 Premium Economy and 210 Economy Class seats offering upgraded in-flight entertainment at every seat throughout the aircraft.

Air Canada General Manager Australia Paul McLean says the new Brisbane service will provide Queenslanders with a fast and convenient gateway to all of North America.

"The Brisbane flights will connect through our Vancouver hub to Air Canada’s extensive North American network, which includes scheduled passenger services to 64 Canadian cities and 52 destinations in the United States," says McLean.

“This now makes the prospect of a two-nation vacation, combining the best of Canada and the US, a truly enticing proposition for Queensland’s international travellers.”
