For Alaska Airlines passengers, owning an ugly Christmas sweater might pay off. On 21 December, the airline is offering early boarding for anyone who is wearing a holiday jumper.
The one-day promotion, which will be marked by flyers and employees across Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air’s networks, is in honour of National Ugly Holiday Sweater Day.
“This time of year, we consider ourselves the 'merrier carrier,' so we love going above and beyond to help our guests embrace the fun, festive side of flying during the holidays,” Alaska Airlines marketing and advertising managing director Natalie Bowman said.
“Whether you're heading home to celebrate tradition or jetting off to a sunny destination to escape the cold, we recognize your journey begins with us, and we're happy to make your travels even brighter any way we can.”
Along with the sweater celebrations, the carrier is playing holiday-themed boarding music and free holiday films for the month.
Flying more than 44 million passengers yearly, Alaska has also advised travellers to ensure they allow extra time at the airport during the busy month of December. Just don’t forget your sweater.
