Etihad Airways adds Copenhagen and Dusseldorf to European network

The UAE carrier connects two more popular cities as one-stop affairs from Australia.

Etihad's new services will fly on its Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft.

Etihad Airways will grow its European network in 2023, launching direct services between its Abu Dhabi hub and both Copenhagen and Dusseldorf.

Beginning from 1 October, the Danish capital will be served four times weekly as a new destination for the carrier, while the German city will welcome Etihad back with three flights each week.

The additions mean Australians keen on the delightful canals of Copenhagen or the Rhine-adjacent Dusseldorf will have another airline at their disposal, with the extra competition on both routes likely to result in lower fares.

"We are thrilled to start flying to Denmark for the first time and to expand our network in Germany to our third city, providing guests with more holiday options and easier access between Abu Dhabi and Europe,” said Etihad Airways CEO, Antonoaldo Neves.

“Our new flights will take off for the European winter season — the perfect time for guests to escape the cold and enjoy Abu Dhabi's beautiful beaches, world-class entertainment and rich heritage — and also ideal for travellers choosing to experience the unique allure of Europe in the winter.”

The addition of Dusseldorf as Etihad’s third German city bolsters the carrier’s daily services to Frankfurt and Munich.

Both flights will be operated using Etihad’s Boeing 787 Dreamliner, offering 28 business class seats and 262 in economy class.
